Privacy policy
The app owner collects no data of any type.
No accounts, no analytics, no ads, no tracking, no crash-reporting tools and no server of our own. We cannot see your medicines, your records or who is in your circle of caregivers.
Where your information is kept
- On your iPhone. Your medicines, times, records, notes and photos are stored in the app on your phone.
- In your own iCloud. If iCloud is on, the app keeps a copy in your private iCloud storage, run by Apple, so it is on your other devices and safe if you change phones. We cannot read it. Apple’s privacy policy applies to iCloud.
- In a circle of caregivers. When someone sets up a circle for a person, that person’s information is kept in the iCloud of whoever set it up, and shared through Apple with the people they invite. Everyone in the circle can see and change that person’s medicines and records. Each record shows the first name of whoever made it.
Sharing
- Information is shared only with the people invited into a circle, using Apple’s iCloud sharing. Nobody else, including us, receives it.
- The person who set up the circle can remove anyone at any time, and anyone can leave. Removal takes effect when that person’s phone next connects; we can’t undo what someone has already seen or copied.
Other things the app uses
- Reminders are scheduled on your phone. Nothing is sent to us.
- Camera and photos are used only when you choose to add a photo of a medicine. The photo stays on your phone and in iCloud as above.
- Official medicine lists (Health Canada, the U.S. FDA, Australia’s PBS and the European Medicines Agency) are built into the app and searched on your phone. If you open a regulator’s page, your browser goes to that regulator’s website, which has its own privacy policy.
- Purchases are handled entirely by Apple. We never receive your payment details or your identity; Apple shows us only anonymous sales totals.
- Test versions. If you test the app through Apple’s TestFlight, Apple may send us crash reports and any feedback you choose to send.
Children
The app can be used by a parent to keep a child’s medicine record. We collect no data from anyone, including children.
Your choices
- Remove a medicine, a record or a person in the app at any time.
- Deleting the app removes its information from your phone. To remove the iCloud copy, go to Settings › your name › iCloud › Manage storage › Medicine Taken.
- Because we hold no information about you, there is nothing for us to give you, correct or delete; everything is in your control.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date. Questions: medicinetakenapp@icloud.com.
